Much hard work has been going on at Shiptheory’s headquarters this month. Our technical team has worked hard to provide our customers with several new features and a brand-new carrier integration.

Scroll down to find out more!

Asendia Integration

We are delighted to announce that Shiptheory now integrates fully with Asendia.

Formed in 2012 as a joint venture between La Poste and Swiss Post, Asendia is one of the world’s leading mail and goods shipping providers. Asendia employs more than 1,000 people worldwide and is present in 15 countries in Europe, Asia, and the US. Asendia offers a diverse range of e-commerce and mail solutions empowering businesses to grow across borders.

Suppose you want to ship your orders with one of world's top three international mail, shipping, and distribution organisations and to streamline your e-commerce fulfilment all at the same time. In that case, Shiptheory's integration with Asendia is the perfect solution!

Shiptheory automatically imports your orders from wherever you sell, and all your shipping details and tracking numbers are immediately updated in your Asendia account and across your sales points. Shiptheory allows the processing of your Asendia orders from a single platform that offers multiple-user support, advanced reporting features, and an excellent customer support team.

Pick Pack Ship

Our new Pick Pack Ship feature allows you to use picking lists in Shiptheory and scan shipment barcodes to book in your shipments.

Typically, if you are about to bring a shipment into Shiptheory while your shipping rules are enabled, the shipment will get booked in immediately. However, by setting your shipping rules to “Mark shipment for approval”, it will allow your shipments to come through into Shiptheory, match the shipping rule, and stay on standby. That way, your shipments will be ready to get scanned in and create a picking list for them.

Once you have your rules setup and you have scanned your first shipment barcode in, you will be automatically brought to a page like this for the shipment you scanned:

From here, you can click on each product to pick them. If you prefer to scan the product barcodes to pick them, all you need to do is click on the “Click here to activate barcode reader”option in the middle of the page.

Once you have picked all the products on the list, the shipment will run through your shipping rules, get booked in, and you should be able to see a screen similar to the image below:

Adding Bundles to a Delivery in Pall-Ex

Shiptheory now allows you to include bundles in a Pall-Ex shipment.

When shipping pallets with Pall-Ex, you may also need to include other items in the same order but in a different format (i.e. tube, box, etc.). These are referred to as "Bundles".

You are now able to add up to 3 bundles from the "Enhancements" drop-down menu when booking in a delivery or creating shipping rules with Pall-Ex.

Updating Unleashed with the Courier Name

Now there is an option to enable updating your Unleashed shipments with the courier name every time one of your shipments is booked in. By default, this option is turned off due to needing to set up what Unleashed is calling Shipping Companies on their side.

Unleashed have a guide on this; however, it is as simple as clicking here to go to your Shipping Companies setup page and adding the name of your couriers of choice. Once you have all the couriers added as Shipping Companies in Unleashed, you can go into your Unleashed settings within Shiptheory and enable the below option:

From this point, any new shipments that are booked in will have the courier name alongside the tracking number returned to the Unleashed shipment.

WooCommerce Shipment Tracking

WooCommerce adds all of the functionality of a web store to your WordPress site, and sends whatever order information is needed to Shiptheory for you to be able to book shipments. However, out of the box, WooCommerce is not able to receive and store shipment tracking information; which courier an order was booked with and any shipment tracking numbers, for example.

Support for shipment and courier tracking details can be added with the official WooCommerce Shipment Tracking plugin.

That is the only plugin offering this functionality that is supported by Shiptheory.

As of plugin version 1.6.24, the Shiptheory couriers supported by WooCommerce Shipment Tracking are:

·       Bring

·       Deutsche Post International

·       DHL

·       DHL.de

·       DHL Parcel UK

·       DPD

·       DPD.de

·       DPD.ie

·       DPD.nl

·       DPD Local

·       FedEx

·       Hermes

·       Parcelforce

·       Royal Mail

·       TNT

·       UPS

For all Shiptheory couriers supported by the WooCommerce Shipment Tracking plugin, the plugin will generate a direct tracking URL from the shipment tracking number returned from Shiptheory. For all other Shiptheory-supported couriers, a Shiptheory shipment tracking URL will be provided.

If you have any queries regarding the above integrations and updates, please do not hesitate to reach out to support. We are more than happy to give you a hand to get these up and running.
