Suppose you want access to the world's largest air express network, an unparalleled European road network and streamline your e-commerce fulfilment all at the same time. In that case, Shiptheory's integration with FedEx Express is the perfect solution.

We are proud to be an official FedEx Compatible Solution Provider and work closely with the FedEx team to ensure a seamless shipping process.

Fulfil orders on your website or e-commerce channels, such as Magento, Shopify, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, etc., as you would normally do and let Shiptheory's intelligent shipping rules engine take care of the shipping.

Shiptheory's shipping rules engine allows you to automate every step of your shipping process based on a combination of shipping destination, order weight, value, product SKU's and more.

Shiptheory provides a true omnichannel solution. It imports your orders from wherever you sell, generates your FedEx shipping labels and customs documentation automatically, and all your shipping details, and tracking numbers are immediately updated in your FedEx account and across your sales points.

Shiptheory allows processing your FedEx orders from a single platform that offers multiple-user support, advanced reporting features, multiple printing options, and an excellent customer support team.

If you want to ship your online store or marketplace orders through FedEx, Shiptheory will save you time and money while eliminating human data entry error.

How to get started with FedEx and Shiptheory (account opening)

First, you need a Shiptheory account, which is free if you ship less than 100 orders per month. You then need to have an active FedEx account; visit www.fedex.com/gb to set up an account for free.

It only takes 2 minutes to connect your FedEx and Shiptheory accounts. Click on your username in the top-right blue menu, select the Manage Carriers option from the drop-down menu, scroll down and click on the FedEx option.

FedEx will be activated on your Shiptheory account, and you will be redirected to a page to connect your FedEx account to Shiptheory.

Enter your FedEx account number, shipping location address, contact details for someone who manages this integration, a general description of the goods you will be shipping with FedEx and then click Connect Account.

Your integration with Shiptheory will be registered in just a few seconds, and you will be redirected to your Shiptheory FedEx settings page.

On this page, you can select which email notifications will be sent to your customers for shipments booked via Shiptheory, the currency you use, and whether any additional shipping charges (e.g., import fees) are paid for by the shipper or recipient.

At the bottom left of the settings page, you can find the Advanced Settings button. Clicking this reveals additional options for your FedEx integration.

Now that you are all set, you can access FedEx wide range of e-commerce services via Shiptheory:

Choose the services that meet your business needs

International Priority®: For time sensitive shipments, door-to-door, customs-cleared. Delivery next day to most locations in Europe and US and 2 days to Asia.

FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP): This is a flexible worldwide delivery solution designed with international e-commerce in mind.

FedEx® Delivery Manager: You can give your customers the flexibility to change their delivery. Recipients won't always be home to receive their order. With FedEx® Delivery Manager, they can choose the delivery time and location to fit their busy lives at no extra cost.

Convenient delivery points: FedEx has wide pick-up and drop-off points across Europe and worldwide for recipients to conveniently pick up their parcels whenever it suits them.

FedEx Global Returns: When booking in through Shiptheory with FedEx, you're able to use FedEx Global Returns for your orders. That way, two labels will automatically be generated in Shiptheory, one for the outbound order and one for the recipient if the order is to be returned. The recipient can then apply the return label to their return parcel and schedule a pick-up or drop it off at a FedEx location.

Third-party Billing: It is possible to use Third Party Billing when shipping with FedEx so that shipping charges (and optionally duty charges) can be billed to a third-party FedEx account number.

Future Shipping Dates: It is possible to set the dispatch date on FedEx Express and Express Freight labels using a specific future date.

Enjoy a smooth customs clearance process with FedEx Electronic Trade Documents (ETD)

FedEx Electronic Trade Documents (ETD) is a simple, free of charge solution that allows you to transmit customs documentation electronically for your international shipments.

By submitting your customs documentation ahead of your shipment, you allow for a quicker documentation review and speed up customs clearance.

FedEx's ETD helps you reduce the risk of your shipments being delayed and minimise your environmental impact all at the same time.

Shiptheory fully supports FedEx Electronic Trade Documents.

How to enable FedEx ETD in Shiptheory

In your FedEx courier settings, click Advanced Settings at the bottom-left of the page to access your advanced settings. Scroll down until you see the option Enable Electronic Trade Documents.

Change the drop-down menu from Disable to Enable. You will then need to upload your company's letterhead and a signature image to be used on the Commercial Invoice documentation submitted for your international shipments.

You can do that through the following two options in your advanced settings - Commercial Invoice Letterhead and Commercial Invoice Signature. After you have uploaded both of them, click Save.

Create FedEx integrated shipping labels

With Shiptheory, you can print shipping labels and customer invoices on a single sheet of paper.

The integrated labels option allows you to build a custom page template that features your shipping label in a design of your choosing, including the order ID, delivery method, recipient address, and more.

Designing an integrated label template is easy with our drag-and-drop editor.

Create your FedEx picking lists

The Pick Pack Ship feature allows you to use picking lists in Shiptheory and scan shipment barcodes to book in your shipments.

Create your virtual FedEx picking list automatically and click on each product or scan the product barcodes to pick them.

Once you have picked all the products on the list, the shipment will run through your shipping rules and get booked in.

Commodity data checking tool

When shipping internationally, having the correct commodity data is of utmost importance. Shiptheory has you covered in terms of international shipping documentation by automatically generating customs documentation like CN22 and CN23 forms, Commercial Invoices, and supporting Electronic Trade Documents.

Nevertheless, you need to ensure your account has the correct product data. Missing or inaccurate data can lead to your shipments being delayed, returned, or paying more tax. To assist with this challenge, Shiptheory has developed an International Product Data Checking Tool.

Our handy checking tool automatically identifies and highlights any issues or omissions in your product data and helps you reduce friction when shipping internationally.

Real-time shipping metrics

Gain complete insight into your shipping costs, efficiency, and history and quickly identify where your orders are coming from and your most popular FedEx delivery services.

Shiptheory's in-depth reporting suite gives you the vital decision-making data you need to spot cost reduction and customer service improvement opportunities ahead of your competition.

Strategic business decisions are made easier with accurate, real-time logistics data.
