Another hectic month here at Shiptheory’s headquarters. Our technical team is working hard to provide our customers with even more options and services for their shipping needs.
Please scroll down to find out more about new features and our brand-new USPS integration!
USPS Integration
We are delighted to announce that Shiptheory now integrates fully with USPS.
The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the US: 160 million residences, businesses, and Post Office Boxes. With more than 34,000 retail locations, over 630,000 employees, and one of the most frequently visited websites in the federal government, usps.com, USPS has an annual operating revenue of more than $71 billion and delivers 48% of the world’s mail.
Shiptheory's integration with USPS is via Stamps.com, an approved licensed vendor of USPS.
Shiptheory automatically imports your orders from wherever you sell, and all your shipping details and tracking numbers are immediately updated in your USPS/Stamps.com account and across your sales points. Shiptheory allows the processing of your USPS/Stamps.com orders from a single platform that offers multiple-user support, advanced reporting features, and an excellent customer support team.
DPD Netherlands: ParcelLetter Support
DPD.nl’s ParcelLetter service delivers parcels, letters, and other items via the letterbox and unlike other DPD delivery services, it does not require a signature. Parcels can be fully tracked through track&trace, and the DPD Predict service is included as standard.
Predict service notifies recipients of a one-hour delivery slot via text or email and then allows them to watch the progress of their DPD driver on his round, with a real-time countdown to their own delivery and an accurate 15-minute delivery slot.
If you wish to use book shipments using the ParcelLetter service with DPD Netherlands, you will need to speak to your DPD.nl account manager to ask for this service to be enabled for your account.
Magento 2: Support for Bundled Products
Magento 2 has the concept of Configurable and Bundled products. These two types of products can be considered as "container" products that include one or more “simple” (or “child”) products. By default, Shiptheory will ignore these “parent” container products and download the individual “simple” products.
However, it is possible to change how Shiptheory will receive bundled products from your Magento 2 account through the Magento 2 advanced settings. To access this, navigate to your Magento 2 settings page and scroll down to click "advanced settings".
You can then select one of the following three options:
· Only download Parent SKUs
· Only download Child SKUs
· Download both Parent and Child SKUs
Gift Messages on Etsy's Integrated Shipping Labels
With Shiptheory you can print shipping labels and customer invoices on a single sheet of paper. The integrated labels option allows you to build a custom page template that features your shipping label in a design of your choosing.
Now it is possible to download gift messages from your Etsy store and add them to your integrated shipping labels template.
Sending a Recipient Tax ID through to Shiptheory from Brightpearl
When shipping internationally, some carriers require the Tax ID of the delivery recipient, be it a commercial tax ID in the case of a company, or a personal tax ID in the case of an individual. It is now possible to download this additional field from Brightpearl when Shiptheory picks up your orders.
Other additions of note that we implemented in the last month:
Using Package Sizes in Shiptheory
If you require more flexibility when creating shipments within Shiptheory, you can now use the Package Sizes option to specify the dimensions of your shipments.
Yodel: Pre-Brexit Changes for Ireland Shipments
A postcode of “DB88 8AA” will need to be provided for any Great Britain to Ireland shipment. A new service was introduced known as International Parcel (ROI) which is used specifically for sending consignments to Ireland.
CSM: Add Collection Cutoff Time
We have added a cutoff time where any shipments booked in before that time are going to be set for collection on the same day, any that are booked in after this time are given a collection date of the next day.
Asendia: DDP/DDU as an Enhancement rather than Advanced Setting
Before the customer had to choose whether all or none of their shipments would be duties prepaid or duties paid by the customer, now we provide this as an enhancement instead so it can be done on a case by case basis.
TPN: Option for Duplicate Copies of Labels
Customers can now print off multiple copies of the same label automatically.
TNT: Option to Specify Pallet in Request Description
You can now send a description of the parcel to TNT for more accuracy in your booking requests.
If you have any queries regarding the above integrations and updates, please do not hesitate to reach out to support. We are more than happy to give you a hand to get these up and running.
