August 2020 Update

Another busy month here at Shiptheory’s headquarters. Our technical team is working hard to provide our customers with even more options and services for their shipping needs.

This month we made two new Parcelforce services available: Europriority Pack and Age Verification Service. Additionally, it is now possible for all our customers using Magento 2 as their shipping platform to use our Amazon Seller Fulfiller Prime Integration.

New Parcelforce service: Europriority Pack (EPK)

The Europriority Pack is a new addition to Parcelforce’s ‘Priority’ suite of services, joining Europriority (EPB) and Euroeconomy (EPH), and is the company’s dedicated service into Europe for smaller items. With a maximum weight of 3kg and a pack size of 40cm x 28cm, it is ideal for sending documents, health and beauty products, electronics, video games, small items of clothing, and more.

As with the other Priority services, Europriority Pack is completely road-based with delivery from two working days to any business or home address in Europe. Prices start from as little of £6, depending on the destination and volumes you send overseas. Delivery notifications, in-flight options, and electronic signatures are also available as standard.

New Parcelforce service: Age Verification Service

Under the Offensive Weapons Act 2019 (OWA), it is prohibited to sale online and then deliver bladed items to people under 18 years of age. Under the OWA, both the seller who sells certain bladed items remotely and the courier company delivering such blades will, in certain circumstances, be criminally liable if those bladed items are delivered into the hands of an individual who is under 18 years old.

In response to this new legislation, Parcelforce has launched the Age Verification Service. This service will include a number of features designed to help ensure these bladed items will be delivered to someone who is 18 years old or over.

The Age Verification Service is now available as an enhancement in Shiptheory when you set a new Parcelforce shipping rule. Beside bladed items, this enhancement can be used for other age-restricted products like tobacco and alcohol.

Magento 2 now supports Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime

We are delighted to confirm that our customers using Magento 2 as their online sales platform are now able to use our Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime integration, providing the M2E Pro extension has been installed on their Magento 2 store.

Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime is a program that allows qualified sellers to get the Prime badge on their products, and deliver directly to Amazon Prime subscribers using their own shipping operation and warehouse.
